• Eleonora Hadjinikolova is a Bulgarian fine artist whose practice encompasses painting, portraiture, iconography, and monumental fresco painting.
• Born on September 9, 1976, in Pazardzhik, Bulgaria, she began her formal artistic education at the Tsanko Lavrenov National High School of Fine Arts in Plovdiv, graduating in 1995. She continued her studies at the National Academy of Art in Sofia, where she graduated in 2001 with a specialization in Fresco Painting.
• During her academic years, Hadjinikolova was awarded an Open Society scholarship and was also a recipient of the scholarship named in honor of Bulgarian artist Georgi Mashev.
• Over the course of her career, Hadjinikolova has presented 21 solo exhibitions, with exhibitions held in Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Sofia and Peshtera, Bulgaria, as well as Bratislava, Slovakia; Madrid, Spain; and Berlin, Germany. Her work has also been included in numerous group exhibitions throughout Pazardzhik, Burgas, Plovdiv and Sofia.
• Her artistic achievements include awards for both painting and illustration, as well as recognition in thematic exhibitions. She is a recipient of the Georgi Mashev Plaque, the highest distinction awarded by the Society of Artists in Pazardzhik.
• Alongside her easel painting, Hadjinikolova has maintained a significant practice in fresco painting and sacred art. Her monumental works include secular fresco projects in Velingrad and Pazardzhik, as well as church murals and icons created for religious sites in Kosharitsa near Nessebar and Bratsigovo.
• In her hometown of Pazardzhik, she has created sacred works for the St. Dimitar Chapel and the Armenian Church Surp Stepanos.
• Across portraiture, figurative painting, sacred art and imaginative compositions, Hadjinikolova's work combines accomplished academic technique with an intensely personal visual language. Her paintings frequently move between the recognizable and the symbolic, bringing together the human figure, nature, ornament and dreamlike imagery.
• She lives and works in Bulgaria.
