Eleonora Hadjinikolova is a renowned Bulgarian fine artist whose diverse practice includes painting, portraiture, iconography, and impressive fresco painting. Born on September 9, 1976, in Pazardzhik, Bulgaria, she initiated her formal artistic journey at the Tsanko Lavrenov National High School of Fine Arts in Plovdiv, graduating in 1995. She furthered her education at the National Academy of Art in Sofia, where she specialized in fresco painting and graduated in 2001. During her time in academia, Hadjinikolova was honored with an Open Society scholarship and a scholarship named after the esteemed Bulgarian artist Georgi Mashev. Throughout her career, Eleonora Hadjinikolova has showcased her work in 21 solo exhibitions across multiple cities such as Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Sofia, and Peshtera, Bulgaria, as well as in international locations like Bratislava, Slovakia; Madrid, Spain; and Berlin, Germany. Her creations have also been featured in several group exhibitions in Pazardzhik, Burgas, Plovdiv, and Sofia. Hadjinikolova's artistic accomplishments include numerous awards for both her distinctive painting and illustration, with notable recognition in thematic exhibitions. She is also a proud recipient of the prestigious Georgi Mashev Plaque, the highest honor granted by the Society of Artists in Pazardzhik. In addition to her easel painting, Hadjinikolova has developed a substantial practice in fresco painting and sacred art, resulting in monumental works including secular fresco projects in Velingrad and Pazardzhik, along with church murals and icons created for religious venues in Kosharitsa near Nessebar and Bratsigovo. In her native Pazardzhik, she has crafted sacred artworks for the St. Dimitar Chapel and the Armenian Church Surp Stepanos. Eleonora Hadjinikolova’s figurative works elegantly fuse accomplished academic techniques with a deeply personal visual language. Her paintings often navigate the space between the recognizable and the symbolic, intertwining the human figure, nature, ornamentation, and dreamlike imagery. She continues to live and work in Bulgaria, embodying over 30 years of artistic practice and international acclaim.
